Luella started her movement arts journey with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance/Theatre from Beloit College in 2006. After graduating she performed with a variety of modern dance companies, including Frente de la Danza in Quito, Ecuador, Agnieszka Laska Dancers in Portland, OR, and both Kanopy Dance Company and Li Chiao Ping Dance in Madison WI. In the summer of 2011 Luella took her first circus class on low flying trapeze and was immediately enthralled. Her passion for circus and the aerial arts has grown over the last decade to include trapeze, sling, silks, and corde lisse. Luella brings the musicality and flow of her dance background to the physicality and dynamic style of rope. She enjoys creating both solo and group works that blend contemporary dance and circus arts on a variety of apparatuses. Luella is a certified instructor (born to fly and paper doll militia) with 5 years of experience coaching. She currently teaches, performs, choreographs, and produces shows at the Madison Circus Space in Wisconsin.
